Just updated my website with a few new pictures of Fungi and birds from earlier in the year if you fancy a look.
I have created a new page called Nature in Mono which I hope to add to and improve on through the coming months. The first pictures I have added to the gallery are mainly afterthoughts my challange for the coming year is to change my thinking and visulize the image in mono before I press the shutter and hopefully produce a better standared of photograph.
Keep up to date with the cardiff Ranger service and see whats going on add your wildlife sightings or get in touch if you want to volunteer.
White Legged Damselfly
Not a new shot one from last year. You remeber when we had sun and calm days and you could go out and take damsel pictures without waders and an umbrella,I think it was called summer.Total washout on my days off back in work now so should get some good weather!
A Dipper shot from this Spring. Still trying the slow shutter approach to combine a sharp bird with milky water. This is getting close to what I have in mind but technically is not good enough. Will have to keep trying!
This page is dedicated to any new work and I will endeavour to keep it updated as often as I can. Thanks for looking.
At last a chance to have a go at the owls again. The morning session was a no show so we broke for lunch all very civillised. Then set up again for the afternoon and almost immediately the owl came into the field hunting and stayed with us until the light disappeared. It caught at least 5-6 voles but did not come in really close,so I still have not got the shot I want yet. May be able to have another go but will be running out of time and so may have to wait and see if they return next year. Still a wonderful experience and a reasonable set of images. There are more shots in my bird gallery please have a look and enjoy.
Oh well my last day off before I go back to work. I managed to get out this morning with the camera to my new bird feeding site. I had to move from my old site and now have to start all over again but intend this site to be an all year place to visit. First callers were just the usual Blue and Great tits but still welcome all the same. Looking forward to what might show up you just never know!
Thanks to a friend I was given the chance to see and photograph wild river otter. My pictures are no prize winners but the experience for me was a dream come true and something I will never forget.Once again big thanks to my friend and check out my mammals page to see some more images
